Welp, here is my classic black and gold again! I’ve been noticing that more fashion houses have been featuring the turtleneck more often, so I decided to accept that the turtleneck is back and incorporated it into this look. I paired it with this tight high-waisted midi pencil skirt to balance out the shortness and chunkiness of the turtleneck, and added the belt to give myself a waist. One thing about midi skirts-people think that they are unflattering on people because they go below the knee but not to the ankle…the truth is actually quite opposite, and if you pair it right can be one of the most flattering things you can wear. Back to the turtleneck…wear them with pencil skirts, A-line mini skirts, or skinny jeans/pants.
Things not to wear with your new turtleneck:
- A boot-cut mom jean (let’s keep it as far removed from the 90’s as possible)
- Shorts
- Capris (we’re not supposed to be wearing these anyway-I wanted to list these just to confirm)
- Trouser jeans/pants
- Any type of skirt that is longer than a miniskirt, but not skin tight (i.e. knee-length A-line, maxi, etc.)
Anything else is a ‘go’!
