Our Dining Room Renovation Reveal: Before & After!
The dining room to me, is the heart of the house. Yes, the kitchen is where you work together with your hands…but the dining room is where the conversation happens. Where you enjoy the food you made together, play the board games, and make the memories. This is a super important space to me, so I wanted it to be comfortable and refreshing, to make you want to just stay there forever.

I originally wanted a cement table (this one from Target, to be exact) but we got it delivered and it came damaged TWO times! So I gave up and splurged a little more on this Pottery Barn table and bench. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I later learned from multiple sources that cement stains extremely easily, and cracks and crumbles under pressure. For real, I saw toothpaste engrained in a neighbor’s cement bathroom sink, and wine stains on a dining table. I’m SO glad we dodged that bullet (especially with my wine track record).
The chairs from our condo breakfast nook were a perfect match for this table, so that was easy! Remember our condo dining area before and after photos?
We moved that random ceiling fan in the weirdest spot of the room to be the electrical for over the dining table. I’m still thinking we should move it over a little more, but that’s a later chore. I had always wanted one of these light fixtures, and it worked out perfectly.
There are a few more touches that still need to be done, but we love it for now!
