DIY Farmhouse Pantry Door
I’m going to show you the steps of how we went from this door:

To this door…

By the way, if you missed our entire pantry reveal with before and after photos, you can find that post here!
We started with this plain door that I bought online. No holes for a handle or brackets…nothing! Just a clean slate of a slab.
Stain:
I started with a gallon of Early American stain and mixed in a tiny bit (like 1/3 of a pint) of weathered oak for a “greyer” finish. I probably used a pint of it. I did three light coats and then a top coat of water-based polyurethane.
Frosted Glass:
We started with this frosted glass sticker, because I’ve seen absolutely terribly DIY’s with the spray. But it did noootttt work at all. It was frankly just a mess. So I decided to suck it up and get this spray. I looked at tons of videos and tips on spraying the frosted glass and it turned out great! we have a few drip spots but the rest is perfect. I recommend just staying very even and consistent, and doing lots of coats (wait until each coat dries beforehand!).
Little Details:
- We used this pantry sticker – they have a laundry one too! It was very easy to stick on.
- The finishing touch was adding this handle. I also got matching brackets.
- These were the semi-flush mount lights we used.
