Lust List – Travel Edition

travel necessities fashionI’m going on a few trips this month and I will need to bring versatile pieces, as I can’t bring tons of luggage! I’ve thought of some great fashion-forward pieces that make packing and vacationing so much easier. This week’s lust list is all about the pieces I’m eyeing for my August travels. Here’s what I’m lusting for and why:

1.  Tophop silk slip dress: A simple dress can go a loooong way! Think about it…with sandals and a hat for daytime sightseeing and shopping, over a bathing suit as a cover up, or with a blazer and heels for dinner. This baby can be worn so many times in one vacay…just switch it up a little!

2. Anthropologie sun hat: I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that I cannot (and will not) do my hair every day on vacation. I would love to be done-up every day, but it’s just not realistic! For the days that I don’t have time for that, or when I jump in the pool without having time to wash my hair afterwards…there’s the almighty sun hat. I love to pair them with shorts and a tank, a maxi, a sundress…etc. If you’re not into the sun hat, try this season’s hat trend: the wide-brimmed fedora.

3. Topshop chambray shirt: This one is also a life saver. I live in Arizona, so I’m used to one weather that is 1) hot and 2) hot. I’m not used to weather constantly changing like in other parts of the world! For the times when I find myself needing an extra layer, a chambray is a quirky and unique fashion-forward way to add that element. Wrap it around your waist with shorts and a tee or a sundress, and layer it on when it gets a little chilly!

4. Gorjana horn necklace: The all-versatile necklace! A long pendant will go far on vacation. This is super cute with a bikini, a sundress, a casual look, or a dressy look! No need to bring your whole jewelry roll…this one is fine from airport to dinner, or from beach to sight seeing.

5. Kate Spade tote: A tote is a must on vacay! I carry my laptop through the airport, so it has to fit in my bag and a tote is the perfect all-in-one for that. Totes can double as a beach bag, baby bag, purse…really anything. I love this tote because it has a zipper which will fend off pick-pocketers. This is a must on vacation!

6. Topshop espadrilles: For the casual times when you need something comfy but flip flops just won’t cut it. Espadrilles are super versatile and are a fashion-forward alternative to a sneaker. These can also be packed down flat for easy carrying in your tote for after the beach, or just to make room in your suitcase!

What are YOUR favorite pieces to bring on vacation that seem to make your life easier?

Happy travels!
