My Quick Everyday Makeup Routine
|
Lumière de Vie Intense Rejuvenation Crème
I use this moisturizer because it is super light, but perfect for my combination skin. It also reduces the appearance of dark spots, which I unfortunately have from my acne years.Motives Perfecting Face Primer This primer is amazing! It feels so light and doesn’t clog my pores at all-very different from any other primer I’ve ever used. I apply a thin layer with my foundation brush (below) all over my face to fill in my lines and smooth the canvas (my face) for the artwork to come! |

Motives Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation with SPF 15 in “Almond”
My favorite foundation to date. I have combination skin and am pretty oily in my T-zone, so the fact that this foundation is oil free is great, and keeps my face matte and flawless all day long. My favorite part? It’s only $24.95…I used to pay $45 for my foundation before I discovered Motives, and didn’t even like the product!Motives Foundation Brush I apply thin layers of foundation at a time with this foundation brush. Sometimes I’m in the mood for thicker coverage and I add more layers, but most of the time I like just one thin layer for a natural look. |
For under the eyes, spot correcting, and eyeshadow base! This quad is great because it has multiple purposes! I also love how there are different colors, so I can use it all year long – in the winter when I’m lighter, and the summer when I’m darker. I use the lightest color in this quad for under my eyes, and a medium color for my skin impurities that need more covering. This is because light colors highlight, and dark colors recede…I want my eyes to be highlighted and I want my impurities to recede. You can also use a light or medium color in the quad for your eyeshadow base. I apply the concealer with my foundation brush (above).

Motives Translucent Loose Powder
This powder has color and offers some coverage, but is sheer for the most part. It sets the foundation for a flawless matte look. Every time I use it, it seems as if it has reflectors in it because it is illuminating and gives me a really healthy-looking glow. I’m sooo hooked on this powder it’s unreal. If you are looking for more coverage, I would recommend a pressed powder (like this one) that will go on a little thicker. You can use the pad that’s included, or the same powder brush that you would use for the loose powder!Motives Powder Brush Make sure you dust off a little powder from the brush before applying, or you’ll deposit too much product when you first touch your face with the brush and you’ll end up looking splotchy! This brush applies and blends really well, and the best part is that it’s only $14.95…unreal. |

Motives Pressed Bronzer in “Miami Glow”
I always start with a bronzer for a glowing base, and this one is very natural-looking, but adds a little shimmer for an illuminating effect. Plus it’s only $22…beats the average $40 bronzer from Sephora!Motives Kabuki Brush I use this kabuki brush for my bronzer as well as blending when I contour…but contouring is for a later date. For my bronzer, I want to illuminate where the light naturally hits which are the forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose. I do a “3” motion on each side of my face: start at the forehead and brush around the eye to the apple of the cheek, then around to the jawline to the chin. See how it creates a “3”? Then repeat on the other side and add a dot of bronzer to the tip of the nose. Motives Pressed Blush in “Baby Doll” I add this on top of my bronzer for some actual color. You always want a blush to make sure you don’t look like you’re pale and dead. I add a light layer of blush first, then add more layers depending on my mood.Motives Cheek Contour Brush This brush ensures that you’re depositing the right amount of blush in the right areas. Point the brush thick-side-down, and brush from the apple to the temple so that you’re adding the most amount of blush to the apples of your cheeks. |

Motives Eye Base
An eye base is a must. It ensures that you’re getting the truest pigment from your eyeshadow, and lengthens the life of your shadow for the day. I use this eye base even though it’s really light because I like to illuminate my eyes by adding a lighter layer under my eyeshadow.Motives Eye Blender Brush This brush holds a lot of eyeshadow. I start by depositing the colors on the areas of the eyelid, then blending everything together. I start light, then add more color as needed.Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in “In the Buff” I use this color because it is skin toned, and basically just layer the whole bottom of the lid, and a little above the crease with this color. Motives Pressed Eye Shadow in “Hot Chocolate” With the darker color, I create a sideways “V” shape on my lid. I start a little above the crease, 3/4 of the way to the inside of my eye. Then I brush to the other side of my eye, and back the other way towards the lash line. This creates a sideways “V” and contours the eyelid. Refer to this picture for an example of the sideways V. |

Motives Luxe Precision Eye Line
This eyeliner sticks for ever! It’s never smudged on me once…it has like a tattoo! When I use this, I pull the side of my lid taut so that it can glide on smoothly. I also tip my liner up at the end of my lid so that my eyes aren’t dragged down and I don’t look like I have droopy, saggy eyes. And it’s only $14…unreal. Motives for LaLa Mineral Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara This one is apparently a best-seller for Motives. And I definitely know why, because it is amazing. It makes your lashes big, luscious, and voluminous. |
This brow kit is great for any color eyebrows! Mine are dark, so I only use the darker color, but you can blend your own color by adding as much dark or light as you want to the brush. I use the brush that’s included and layer the product on in the direction that my hairs grow. The pot on the far right is wax, and I use it at the very end to set my brows. This keeps the product on my eyebrows all day and makes sure my hairs stay in place…because it’s embarrassing when your eyebrow hairs are sticking up in every which way. This product literally lasts forever…I used to use the eyebrow pencils that twist up, and they would only last me about a month. And this kit costs the same as an eyebrow pencil!

Motives Vitamin E Lip Treatment
You have to moisturize before color, or else your lips will will end up looking like a crackly desert. This is my favorite lip balm ever…not too light, not too heavy!Motives Mineral Lipstick in “Starlet” I use this color every day because it is subtle, but still fun. The Motives colors are super pigmented and last forever, too. |
|
Motives 10 Years Younger Makeup Setting Spray
I spray 4 spritzes of this on my face after my makeup: in an “X” motion, and also a “T” motion. It settles fine lines, and helps prevent your makeup from smudging. It also gives you a dewy look without making your face oily! Plus, it lasts forever.Motives Makeup Remover Towelettes For obvious reasons. These ones take my makeup off very efficiently, but aren’t heavy and don’t leave a residue like most makeup remover wipes. I also use these after I work out when I don’t have time to wash my face. They have a toner built in too, so you don’t have to tone your face afterwards! |
