Our 3 New Cabin Bedrooms
We took most of our cabin furniture to the Billy Creek Lodge when we furnished it in August, which left a pretty blank slate for me to redecorate our own space. It came at great timing, because our 5-year anniversary at our cabin is coming up this February (2022). A lot of the original furniture was hodge-podge, secondhand, and gifted, so this was a super fun project to be able to finally decorate to how I want it to be!
The living room and 3 bedrooms are the main areas that needed to be re-furnished. I will share the living room at a later date…I think it would be fun to take you through the many phases of the living room through the years. The bedrooms are finally done 5 months later…mainly because shipping and supply chain issues, but here they are!
Our Bedroom
I wanted our room very clean and relaxing, yet be able to still fit with the “modern rustic cabin” vibes. I love mixing neutrals and contrast, so I went with black iron for the bed and mirror, green velvet for the curtains and some bedding (you can see the green velvet shams and I have a quilt coming to match), and neutrals for everything else.
All source links are below. Our nightstands are from Restoration Hardware, but the “Russian Oak” line was discontinued, so I found a dresser at West Elm that was almost identical. That was part of the Tahoe collection and is also discontinued. The lamps are Goodwill, and curtains are IKEA as always!

The Western Room
This room is a tribute to the county and area that the cabin is in, Navajo county. It is home of the White Mountain Apache tribe, which has tons of cool rich history in the area. I found a lot of old photos on the county website and framed them for the room.

The Lake Room
This room needed to be multi-functional for us. Before, it was just a guest bedroom. But we don’t have all three of our rooms full with guests often. However we do spend most of our summers here and work from home, so we needed a space that could sleep guests AND be an office space for one of us (Danny is using it as his office, I work from the kitchen table!).
I looked into doing a daybed and a desk, or murphy bed and desk…but none of the configurations worked out, plus we would have had to get rid of the dresser and/or nightstands.
I was lucky to find this awesome murphy bed/desk combo and snagged it right away!
The theme of this room is “Summer in the mountains”, hence the lake vibe. I sourced a bunch of cool antiques I found on the mountain like fishing poles/nets, tennis raquets, an antique brass golf ball door knocker and canoe paddles…and mixed them with more modern furniture to keep it clean. We also found the vintage water ski in our attic at home and it was perfect for this room!
