The best-kept cabinet secret (hint: it has to do with IKEA!)
This is another room from the McCormick Flip! You can find all the projects from the flip here.
The laundry room was my favorite, even though it was the most simple. I’ve always dreamed of a huge, light and bright laundry room, so this was fun! However we had to stick to a budget since this was a flip and all…and $10,000 cabinets would have been a bit much for a laundry room.
What if I told you that this entire cabinet system – countertop and hardware included – was under $2,000? Yep, you heard that right. And it’s all IKEA!
At first, I had my reservations. We’ve all had the college IKEA furniture that broke after a few years, so I was unsure of the quality. So I did a little research and found out that their cabinets actually come from a completely different manufacturer than their furniture. It’s good quality stuff!
They also have TONS of customization options. We used deep pull-out drawers, a hamper cabinet, and drying racks. It’s really fun to play around on their online planner – check it out for yourself here! They also have an added installation service if putting it all together terrifies you.
