We Bought Another Cabin in Pinetop! (Cabin Photos & Mood Boards Inside)
Yep, you read that right. This was an unexpected one.
And no, we aren’t selling our current Pinetop house. I’ll tell you the whole story…
We were hosting my family in Pinetop over Father’s Day weekend…
Danny wanted to take them to this fire tower we like to go to for beautiful scenic views, I wanted to stay home and play games. They decided to go, so I said I would stay home and clean, but they convinced me to go.
On our way there, we crossed a bridge over this creek and saw a “for sale” sign pointing down a secluded dirt road that only had three homes on the street, all of which were on the creek. This was intriguing to us, because we have always dreamed of owning a house on some sort of body of water.
On our way back from the fire tower, we said “let’s just take a peek at it real quick”.
We pulled up with my mom and brothers and simultaneously all said “whoah“. I took one look at the exterior and said “this would be an amazing rental”.
So we all peeked around in the windows and everything about it was amazing. We discussed it a little bit (okay, we basically just looked each other in the eyes and said “we have to have this”)…so I called the listing agent right then and there to get the info on it, and we were there doing a showing the very next day.
At the showing, we both really envisioned our lives at this place.
Especially in the future with kids. It has two separate offices overlooking the creek, an amazing living area, huge kitchen, and the property is just gorgeous. Not to mention it’s a full log cabin!
We thought that maybe we could move into this house as our full-time cabin and rent out the one we live in now. But after thinking about it, 4,100 square feet is just too much for only us and Finley.
We still wanted it though!
So we decided we could rent it out until we are ready for it.
We slept on it for a night to make sure that this what what we wanted to do, and it gave us time to look over all our finances forward and backward. Then we placed an offer on it the next morning.
By that afternoon, the sellers accepted! We did the inspection that week and we were rockin’ and rollin’!
This rental will be a doozy to furnish
It’s 4,100 square feet. And since it’s 180 miles away from our home, we have to set it up in one fell swoop. So we are spending 3 weeks in Pinetop this month to get it all ready!
I made mood boards for every room (below), and have everything picked out online and ready to ship to the cabin based on the arrival date.
I also have done quite a few Goodwill runs and Offerup pickups. We are bringing a very full Uhaul up there!
Take a peek at the cabin photos and plans for furnishing/decorating below:

Besides what we have planned already, we are thinking up a few other plans like transitioning the downstairs office into a bedroom and adding a bathroom attached to make a second ensuite.
If we don’t turn it into a bedroom, we will use it as a secondary game room with a ping pong table. It would be great for that as well, because it goes out to the deck!

I will have another post up in a few weeks with the final photos and listing, and I’ll do another “shop the house” post. But for now, here is everything I’ve purchased for it online:
